Classics never die, they just get remixed. This is one of the tracks that demonstrates the myriad musical generations that exist within the institution of Perfect Beat. While the remainder of PB all remember 'Boom, Boom, Boom' from their days of clubbing/spinning, the youngest member of the team only discovered this one while sifting through the CD Singles section a few years ago and finding it under the 'Dance Classics' divider, and asked, 'Isn't this that guy from the movie 'Circuit'?' Sad. Despite his ignorance, 'Boom Boom' was one of those decade-defining late-80s hits that really set the stage for the fun, frivolity and blatant camp quality of that time period. Luigie Gonzalez, half of the remix team L.E.X., teams up with Finbarr Massi to create the standout of this remix package, delivering the goods in full length, mixshow and dub version. Giuseppe D turns in the most radio-friendly of the bunch, and accessorizes the Top 40 sound of his full-length mix with an edit. And Solar City and Rich Alick cover the slightly darker, circuit-ier side of the sound spectrum, both utilizing semi-electro elements and some tribal-lite percussion. Good fun stuff to kick off Summer 2007.
